My name is Basilia Mancuso, an Architect and Visual Artist. A graduate of the University of Zulia (LUZ), I have since dedicated my life to Architecture and beautifying spaces with my abstract artwork. Through my work, I seek to convey emotions and dynamism, using colors and textures that evoke movement and unique sensations. I am a prominent architect and visual artist based in the Netherlands, born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, with Italian roots. From an early age, I was fascinated by shapes and colors, which led me to explore the world of art and architecture. My academic training at the Faculty of Architecture was a crucial point in my professional development, as there I surrounded myself with a vibrant community of artists and creatives who fueled my passion for artistic expression. It was in that environment, full of inspiration and constant learning, where I began to forge my path as an architect and visual artist. My artwork is characterized by the use of contemporary abstract painting, where textures and colors play a fundamental role in conveying emotions and sensations. Through my work, I explore the interaction of color and form, creating compositions that invite introspection and connection with the viewer. Experimentation with materials and techniques is a constant in my creative process, allowing me to develop a unique aesthetic that reflects both my architectural training and my love of abstract art.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to exhibit my work in various international venues. I participated in the Qatar International Art Festival, an event that brings together artists from around the world and allowed me to showcase my artistic vision in a global context. Additionally, my works have been presented in venues as diverse as the exclusive restaurant The Art of Food Atrangi Dubai, where art and gastronomy merge to create a multisensory experience. I have also exhibited at the prestigious DCS Contemporary Art Gallery in Karlsruhe, Germany. Kulturní centrum Vodárenská věž Letná, Prague; Golden Duck Gallery, Budapest; Bratislava, Slovenia. This has allowed me to expand my presence on the international art circuit.
These experiences have enriched my artistic vision and allowed me to share my passion for abstract art with a global audience.
It has been an opportunity to share my vision and connect with new audiences, showcasing the universality of the abstract language. My works not only decorate spaces but also provoke dialogue and reflection on form and color, leading the viewer to discover new interpretations and meanings. My distinctive style, marked by a bold use of the color palette and the complexity of textures, has been celebrated by critics and collectors alike.
Beyond my success in painting, my training as an architect brings an additional dimension to my artistic work. My understanding of space, structure, and composition is reflected in each of my pieces, creating a bridge between art and architecture that defines their unique and multifaceted approach.
